This bed frame is essentially our loss leader – we hope this bed frame represents an incredible value for someone looking for a handmade solid hardwood platform bed that will last a lifetime. We make a lot of bed designs, all of which I am very proud of, but this more simple design is essentially being offered at cost for those that like simplicity and handmade quality.

This bed is the epitome of simple elegance. All solid wood and the headboard and footboard are comprised of mortise and tenon joinery to legitimately last a lifetime.

Featuring strong lines, exposed joinery and an enjoyably slanted headboard.

This bed exhibits clean, coherent lines with angles reminiscent of the mid century era, but brought into a contemporary and modern design. The details include exposed angled bridle joints and feet that are subtle, yet instantly eye-catching. The entire bed is constructed with mortise and tenon joinery (super strong) and is finished with a hand rubbed oil/wax to keep a close to wood feel but also protect from a lifetime of use.

The drawers, if storage option is added, suspend from the bed and do not go all the way to the floor giving a much lighter and airy feel than traditional storage beds, while providing the same storage capacity.

Our goal with this bed has been, first and foremost, to construct a piece of furniture that will last well over 50 years without issue. Quality of material and construction is our focus. If storage option is added, the drawers suspend from the bed and do not go all the way to the floor giving a much lighter and airy feel than traditional storage beds, while providing the same storage capacity. The pulls for the drawers are hide leather wrapped around a brass rod and the drawer joinery is also pinned with brass for a subtle, but interesting contrast. Other drawer pull options are also available.

Though delicate in design, this bed is remarkably sturdy and stout. The design goal was to have a bed that is both simple in appearance and that gives a strong presence. To have the headboard extend 6″ on either side past the footprint of the rest of the bed frame lends to making a statement in the room without feeling bulky.

Bed is constructed with all mortise and tenon joinery using solid 1.5″ and 2″ wood, yet breaks down simply and easily. The beds pictured are solid walnut.

This bed is made from 100% solid wood and upholstered with your choice of fabric or leather. The frame is a solid 2 inches thick and is supported by two turned legs at the foot of the bed that are attached through a visible wedged mortise and tenon joint, which adds a subtle but interesting detail to the frame. The frame is mitered and goes together in minutes with just the use of an allen wrench.
