Our goal with this bed has been, first and foremost, to construct a piece of furniture that will last well over 50 years without issue. Quality of material and construction is our focus. I hope you like the design and find the proportions pleasing, but we strive primarily to surpass your expectations in regard to quality. A key advantage of purchasing from a smaller scale shop is that we can justify losing our minds on details such as grain orientation and joinery reinforcement. Please enjoy for many, many years to come.

This bed is made from 100% solid wood and upholstered with your choice of fabric or leather. The frame is a solid 2 inches thick and is supported by two turned legs at the foot of the bed that are attached through a visible wedged mortise and tenon joint, which adds a subtle but interesting detail to the frame. The frame is mitered and goes together in minutes with just the use of an allen wrench.

Description

The design of the floating headboard works well with the thick minimal frame. The sculpted top rail above the upholstered headboard is hand-shaped and flows elegantly into and out of every transition.

May be built with solid wood headboard in lieu of upholstered option (like Bed No. 5).

This is very similar to our Bed No. 3 and Bed No. 5, but uses a different platform.

WOOD + UPHOLSTERY

Wood: Available in any domestic hardwood including Walnut, Maple, White Oak, or Cherry.

Upholstered headboard: Any Eco-wise Pendleton® wool currently available, leather for an additional $200, or personalized option.

FINISH

We use an eco-friendly (and food-safe) oil/wax finish that seals and protects the wood as it highlights it’s natural beauty, so that it can be enjoyed in day-to-day activities by all ages without hesitation. Any spills can easily be wiped off and, over time, a simple application of oil will revitalize the piece as needed based on personal preference.
